Need to revitalize mealtime?
I think after a while, we all feel like we are cooking the same ol' thing every night. For my family, it's usually pasta with veggies - Yes, I eat pasta ... although usually it's an Organic Quinoa or Brown Rice Pasta.
I turned to my group on Facebook to see which websites they love for healthy recipes.
Here is a list of some great recipe sites that may just help you spice up your meals and snacks!
It's fairly easy to substitute some ingredients to make your meals healthier. Here are some of my go to substitutions:
Flax Egg is a great non-dairy alternative. We mainly do this in our house because my daughter and I like to "taste test" along the way!
To Make 1 Egg: Mix 1 Tablespoon Organic Ground Flaxseed with 3 TBSP Warm Water (stir and let it sit for 5-10 minutes)
Instead of Vegetable Oils, we opt for Organic Coconut Oil for Baking and Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) for most meals.
Organic Coconut Butter (Coconut Manna) for baking
Ghee (clarified butter where all the proteins, milk solids & lactose is removed... such as Organic Valley Purity Farms Ghee)
Instead of white or cane sugar, I've switched to Organic Coconut Sugar.
Other sugar substitutes that I turn to are Organic Unsulphured Molasses, Organic Raw Local Honey (or Trader Joes has a good Organic Raw Honey), Organic Dates, Organic Maple Syrup (typically Grade B is better...but I've only been seeing Grade A this year)
